Introduction: THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST is a vivid depiction of the last 12 hours of Jesus Christ's life.Sometime around the year A.D. 30, in the Roman province of Palestine, an obscure Jewish carpenter named Jesus of Nazareth began to teach publicly and to proclaim the coming of a 'Kingdom of God.' For centuries, the Jewish people had expected the appearance of a promised deliverer known as the Messiah --a figure who would restore their ancient dignity, and free their sacred homeland from all evil and despair. In the minds of many, Jesus appeared to be this Messiah. Surrounded by a core group of twelve disciples, Jesus began to attract a massive following from among the common people of Galilee and Judea, who eventually praised him as their Messiah and King. However, Jesus also had many enemies in Jerusalem. The Sanhedrin, a governing senate composed of the leading Jewish priests and Pharisees, conspired to put Jesus to death. With the aid of Judas Iscariot, a member of Jesus' own inner circle, the Sanhedrin succeeded in arresting Jesus, handing him over to the Roman secular authorities on unsubstantiated charges of treason against Rome. Although Jesus consistently maintained that his Kingdom was a heavenly and spiritual one, the Roman procurator Pontius Pilate, faced with the possibility of a riot, ordered that Jesus be taken outside the city and crucified as a common criminal.
Yes, I saw the movie like so many others have done. It's the most powerful and heart touching movie I have ever seen. In the first five minutes it grags you and never lets you go until the end. Then you just sit there in your seat in awe, still looking at the screen. Then you realize how much the Lord Jesus loved you going to the cross. That you and everybody in the theater nail Him to that cross. It was my sins your sins, and the world that put Him there on Calvery's hill. Then my tears flowed down my face feeling the love of God in my heart. Truly, this is the greatest love story, that has ever been told. Just like the Roman centurion (commanding officer) said, after you see the teardrop from God (in the movie) fall from heaven, and hit the ground. Truly this was the Son of God. Matthew 27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
Jesus suffer great for us and the movie just showed some of His suffering. If you can believe that, after seeing what we saw in The Passion of the Christ. Here's some prophecy of the scripture that proves how much He suffer (endure evil) for us. Yes He was beaten, and marred more than any other man, according to the prophecy of scriptures. Isaiah 52:14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred (injury, damage, impaired and disfigure) more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: Here in Isaiah 53 shows that Jesus gives the ultimate sacrifice for us. He was rejected, despised, and bruised for our iniquities (sins). Jesus did it for you and was willing to lay down His life for us. He could have called ten thousand angels to rescue Him. But if He had, there would be no salvation, no second coming, no promises, no resurrection, no mansion for His Saints, and we all would die in our sins. Satan would have the victory. "Praise God!!!" He did go to the cross and is alive today, seated at the right hand of the Father.
Isaiah 53: 1-12 1: Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? Knowing my Christ as my saviour and the Bible, The Passion of the Christ was scriptural. But seeing what He went through in vivid images, changes your outlook on things. You see the love and the compassion He had for the world. No doubt God is using Mel Gibson for His purpose in these last days to fireup the Christians, and to bring the lost to the Saviour. The Lord is using this movie as one of the tools to bring the lost to Him. This movie is going international thru out the world for His purpose. The Lord said in His word that in the last days He will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh.
Acts 2:17-18 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: There's a spiritual warfare out there for the souls of men, women and teenagers. Satan knows his time is limited, so he is doing all he can with his host of demons to deceived and lead them away from Christ. Judgement is coming soon for this nation, because of abortion, homosexuality, immorality, greed, fornication, and lovers of pleasure, more than lovers of God. Lets us look on what God has to say in His word about these sins. Matthew 5:21 Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment.
Jude 7-8 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Jude 15-16 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Romans 1:24-32 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
If you fall in any of these sins. I got some good news for you. Jesus paid it all on the cross. Remember when Pilate ask Jesus, "what is truth?" Jesus is the truth, the way and the life. You must come to Jesus first. The only thing you have to do is, ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and ask Him to come in your heart and save you, and believe that He rose the third day. If we meet and you forget me, you have lost nothing, but if you meet Jesus Christ and forget Him, you have lost everything! Don't walk away or let Satan whisper in your ear, that you have plenty of time, you don't. The bible says: II Cor:6:2: For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
